Typewriters found me. And because of this weird new obsession, I now own over forty portable typewriters from the 1950-1960s and quite a few old horses from the 1930s. Typewriters are a significant piece of history. They are not being made anymore. They are vestiges of the beautiful written word with no digital footprint. They are a miraculous machine made well and strong and built to last.
So now I do events with them. School events, parties, street fairs for no other reason than to have an excuse to put down the phone, stop googling everything and see what it means to lack a delete button. Watch your thoughts print letter by letter on a piece of paper and see the magic of slowing down and paying attention.
